All my life I have longed to be a writer to reach people. My instructors in school and college often encouraged me to pursue this path, but my conservative Cuban Immigrant parents urged me to take the safe, scenic career route in banking. As a result, I have been working in the financial services industry since 1987. At the time, I thought it was the best decision for me and I safely followed their cue. I take full responsibility for this career decision and for the similar romantic one I braved when I married my high school sweetheart. He is a wonderful man but after 14 years together, we amicably divorced. We share two beautiful, smart, funny, talented “super daughters” and get along astonishingly well. The secret I think lies in the fact that we both have a crystal clear understanding that we both need to work together to continue positively co-piloting the future of our families. Nonetheless we are both happily remarried, although I like to think I am happier (LOL). I am beyond grateful for having had the innate determination to seek out the relationship of my dreams, which I finally found in 2001. It has been a wonderful ride and I love being married to my definition of the ideal Superman! I have recently made the decision to follow my dream of becoming a writer and decided to write about the topic I am often requested the most advice on: divorce. My book is a work in progress and I have created this blog with the hopes of reaching a wider audience while seeking your valuable input!!! As a Financial Advisor, I have helped hundreds of people learn to effectively manage their money. As a wine, fitness, music, travel, yoga, dance and book enthusiast, I am often the trusted recommendation resource for many friends, family and clients. I am consistently told that I inspire people, especially women, and have compiled this blog and book with the objective of helping women thrive and grow using the strength and beauty that they inherently possess. As women, are all born with a special set of talents and gifts, without which no man or child would ever exist. We are undoubtedly play a very important part of the world around us and if I can help inspire more SUPERWOMEN and make this world a better place, that would make me very, very HAPPY!
