I quit my job, started my own firm and am happier than ever!

On May 1st of this year, I did something I had dreamed of doing for what seemed like forever… I QUIT MY CORPORATE JOB! I barely slept the night of the Friday I resigned.  I woke up with butterflies in my stomach that reminded me of every time I had ever fallen in love.  Anticipation, excitement, romanticism with a dash of the unexpected. I couldn’t believe I was actually going to QUIT!  And, I was soon officially going to be the Captain of my own ship, the President of my own company (hello tax advantages!) and the Branch Manager of… Read More

2014-11-02 18.17.22

As you all know, I am missing my daughter, Daniella, so much ever since she left to college this August.  Last weekend, my Gabby and I decided to meet her in Savannah for Halloween Weekend. Savannah is a charming city, rich in history, good food, southern hospitality & ghosts!  It is actually one of the most haunted cities in America! On the night we arrived (All Souls Eve), I booked a ghost tour with  It was such a memorable experience!  For $15 per person, they take you on a guided tour of most of Savannah’s haunts, all in the… Read More

College-bound Daughter = Bawling Mom

http:// I am crying myself to insomnia (versus sleep) as I edit this video I made for my daughter to commemorate a new chapter in our lives. I didn’t even attempt to add the baby pictures for the sheer fear that my eyes would be unrecognizable for days.  My oldest daughter, Daniella will be starting her first year at college. I am so proud of her and the responsible, kind, funny, smart, beautiful and caring adult she has become and I know that expanding her horizons will be the key to her lifetime happiness and growth.  However, I cannot stop… Read More

Best Family Vacation Ever… South Africa!

We just got back from quite possibly the best family vacation we have ever taken. Not only did we have a total blast, we really pushed the envelope and did so many daring and different things during this trip. From cage-diving with Great White Sharks in the infamous “Shark Alley” off the seal-populated Dyer Island (featured every year on Shark Week!) to enjoying the fabulous wine, chocolate and food at Capetown’s picturesque vineyards to living amongst  the primitive beauty of nature in a Wild African Safari, we all agreed that it will be difficult to top this vacation for sure!… Read More

“A day without laughter is a day wasted.”  – Charlie Chaplin We really should make an effort to laugh every day and I am happy to say that most of the time, we do.  Jose & I have spent several hours today laughing uncontrollably at the gust-busting, genius YLVIS’ YouTube videos. This comedy duo from Norway (they are brothers) are witty, hilarious and handsome as hell. They are also responsible for this infectious song you may remember from last year, “What Does the Fox Say?”  I clearly remember not being able to go to sleep when that song first came… Read More

I asked some of my readers the other day what they would like me to write more about. I received several responses but the most popular request was regarding how to better balance it all. I am not going to lie. It is not an easy feat and I just recently got the hang of how to pull it all off without getting too overwhelmed. How? I learned one simple trick that made everything work like clockwork and I would love to share it with you! Before a few years ago, I was one of those people that absolutely loved… Read More

Coldplay - Ghost Stories

There are two times of the year that music just seems more memorable to me – Summertime and Christmastime.  Perhaps it is because these seasons are the two most anticipated times of the year… or that the memories experienced during the summer and the holidays seem to be accompanied by the soundtrack of music that happens to be “in” at the time.  In any event, music is such a vital part of my life and I am happy to share my summer music playlist that I am so entirely loving right now.  I warn you that I generally do not… Read More

LOOK UP – This video will inspire you to be more present and alive in the lives of those you most love

Yesterday was Mother’s Day.  I loved spending the day with my kids and family but I could not help but notice how we all spent a part of the day responding to other’s people’s well-wishing texts, Instagrams and Facebook posts.  I know I checked every media site to see if my kids posted any “spending Mother’s Day with my amazing Mom” posts.  They didn’t.  I wish a little bit that they would have, but then I realized that this is truly an utter stupidity because I know in my heart that they love me anyway.  I don’t need to post… Read More
